13 things you need to know about home recovery programme

Home Recovery Programme (HRP) is now the default care management protocol for eligible individuals who are COVID-19 positive. This is part of Singaporeโ€™s transition into a COVID resilient nation. Let us learn more about what HRP is and what you need to take note of.

Who is eligible for Home Recovery?

HRP is for eligible, fully vaccinated COVID-19 patients to recover at the comfort of their homes.

You are eligible if you

– Are fully vaccinated

– Aged 12 – 69

– Have mild or no symptoms

– Have no severe illness or co-morbidities

– No household members over 80 years old or deemed vulnerable (e.g pregnant, weak immune response)

– Have the ability to self-isolate, preferably with an attached bathroom.

In any instance where you are not suitable for home recovery, do self-isolate immediately and wait to be transferred to a COVID-19 care facility. For more information, you can refer to this page.

How do I consult a doctor during my Home recovery?

You can teleconsult our doctors on Minmed Connect app while you recover at home. Teleconsultation is available 24/7, and medication will be delivered to you.

Download Minmed Connect app on iOS or Android.

How long will Home Recovery last?

HRP will end after the 10-day isolation order and you will be discharged. There is no need for a PCR test prior to discharge.

On the 6th day of home recovery, you may opt for an optional Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) swab test and be discharged if the test results are negative or the viral load is low.

There are household members staying together in the same place of residence, what should they do?

All household members staying at the same place of residence must register as close contacts here and be issued Quarantine Orders. For more information, you can visit this page.

Can I leave my area of isolation during Home Recovery?

You are not allowed to leave your designated area of isolation during the full period of your HRP. While you might be fully vaccinated and do not have symptoms, you might still be infectious. Isolation will help to reduce the viral load to a non-infectious level.

How do I purchase my daily necessities during Home Recovery?

To prevent exposing others to COVID-19, you should arrange for contactless transactions for your food or groceries. You can either seek help from your friends or family or purchase online. Have an area outside your designated area of isolation for items to be placed for collection. Ensure that no one is nearby and put on a mask during collection.

What should I do when I feel unwell during Home Recovery?

If you are feeling unwell or experiencing worsening of any symptoms below, contact your assigned telemedicine provider immediately

– Fever

– Acute Respiratory Infection symptoms (e.g cough, sore throat, runny nose, headache)

– Muscle aches

– Diarrhoea

If you are experiencing any of the below symptoms, please call 995 immediately:

– Shortness of breath

– Chest pains or pressure on your chest

– Palpitations (fast beating or pounding of your heart)

How will my health be monitored during Home Recovery?

You will be assigned a dedicated telemedical provider throughout your home recovery period.

As part of the programme, you are required to monitor your health at home and submit daily reports of your health readings (temperature, pulse rate and blood oxygen saturation levels) at least once a day to ensure that you are recovering.

I need assistance during the Home Recovery period, who can I contact?

To assist you with your HRP, you will be assigned a HRP Buddy, who will be your single point of contact. You can request help from your HRP Buddy by calling 6874 4939. Periodically, your HRP Buddy might check in with you and check on your status.

If Minmed is your assigned telemedical provider and you require help, you can contact us for assistance on Telegram (@minmedhomerecovery).

When can I get discharged from Home Recovery?

You will be discharged from the 10th day of illness if you are feeling well. There is no need for further PCR tests because vaccinated individuals are highly unlikely to be infectious after 10 days. A discharge memo is not required if you have received an Isolation Order and completed 10 days of home recovery. Your original Isolation Order SMS can be shown as proof of recovery, if required.

Should I disinfect my room or home after my Home Recovery?

It is a good practice to disinfect your home after your home recovery period, especially shared facilities such as toilets.

For a guide on how to disinfect your designated isolation area, you can refer to NEAโ€™s guide here.

I need more information about Home Recovery, where can I get it?
